Owned at one time by his family
for towing logs to the Morrison Mill,
Anacortes, WA., and to a mill 
 in Stanwood, but not for
hauling apples to Victoria.


31 October 1912, The Friday Harbor Journal, "The KLATAWA, Capt. Jakle, took a shipment of apples and other produce to Victoria, BC. last week." 


Captain William Jakle of Friday Harbor, WA., hired Delbert E. Hoffman to build the above tug KLATAWA when Hoffman was working a few feet south of the Shaw Island Cannery at the steamer landing along Harney Channel,  San Juan Archipelago, WA.
